This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have, when you use our website, dashboard, and platform (collectively, the "Service") at easycommerz.net.

This Privacy Policy applies to two groups of individuals:

  • Merchants — businesses and individuals who create and operate a store using EasyCommerZ.
  • End Customers — individuals who shop on stores built with EasyCommerZ.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Merchants Provide to Us

  • Account information: name, business name, email address, phone number, password.
  • Billing information: subscription plan, billing address, and payment details (processed via third-party payment processors; we do not directly store full card numbers).
  • Identity/KYC information where required for payment gateway or courier onboarding (e.g., trade license, National ID, business registration).
  • Store configuration data: templates, product listings, pricing, store branding, and content you upload.
  • Communications with our support team.

1.2 Information Collected from End Customers (on behalf of Merchants)

When End Customers shop on a Merchant's EasyCommerZ-powered store, we may process:

  • Contact and delivery information (name, phone number, address, email).
  • Order details (products purchased, order value, order status).
  • Payment status information passed from payment gateways (e.g., SSLCommerz, bKash) — EasyCommerZ does not store full payment card or mobile wallet credentials.
  • Courier tracking information shared with logistics partners (e.g., Pathao, Steadfast) to fulfill deliveries.

1.3 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, referring URLs, and timestamps.
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 6).
  • Log data related to platform performance, security, and troubleshooting.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including store creation, order processing, and dashboard analytics.
  • Process subscription billing and payments.
  • Facilitate payment processing and order fulfillment through integrated third-party payment and courier partners.
  • Verify Merchant identity for compliance, fraud prevention, and payment gateway onboarding.
  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, security alerts, and support requests.
  • Send marketing communications (only with consent or as permitted by law, and with the ability to opt out).
  • Improve, secure, and develop new features for the Service.
  • Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal data, we rely on: performance of a contract with you (providing the Service), your consent (e.g., for marketing), our legitimate business interests (e.g., fraud prevention, service improvement), and compliance with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:

4.1 Merchants. If you are an End Customer, your order and delivery information is shared with the Merchant whose store you purchased from, as they are the seller responsible for fulfilling your order.

4.2 Payment Processors. We share necessary transaction information with integrated payment gateways, including SSLCommerz and bKash, to process payments. These providers have their own privacy policies governing how they handle your payment data.

4.3 Courier and Logistics Partners. We share necessary delivery information (name, address, phone number, order contents) with integrated courier partners, including Pathao and Steadfast, to fulfill and track deliveries.

4.4 Service Providers. We share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, analytics, customer support tools, and email delivery — under confidentiality and data protection obligations.

4.5 Legal and Safety. We may disclose information where required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of EasyCommerZ, our users, or others.

4.6 Business Transfers. If EasyCommerZ is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy or a policy at least as protective.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Merchant store data is generally retained for the duration of an active subscription and a reasonable period afterward, after which it may be deleted or anonymized, subject to legal retention requirements.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, analyze usage, and support marketing efforts. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure hosting — to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

End Customers: If you are an End Customer and wish to exercise rights over data held about you, please contact the Merchant whose store you purchased from in the first instance, as they are the data controller for your order relationship; EasyCommerZ acts as a service provider/processor supporting that store.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it.

11. Third-Party Links and Integrations

Our Service may contain links to, or integrations with, third-party websites and services (including payment and courier partners). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated policy with a revised "Last Updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice (e.g., via email or in-app).
